Online Lessons
Can't make it to Melbourne? Learn drums from anywhere in the world.
Online lessons with Steve go well beyond a simple video call. Every student gets access to a personalised client portal — a private, purpose-built space where your lesson recordings, reference material, sheet music, and session files are all stored and ready to stream or download at any time.
Lessons themselves cover everything in-person sessions do — technique, groove, rudiments, reading, and repertoire built around your goals. Students from across Australia and internationally have found the online format to be a genuinely high-quality alternative to studio teaching, at all levels from beginner to advanced.
Your Own Client Portal
All online students get access to a personalised client portal — a private space built specifically for lessons with Steve. Inside you'll find:
- Streaming video and audio of lesson recordings and reference material
- A cloud drive to access lesson notes, sheet music, and session files from any device
- Your lesson schedule and upcoming bookings in one place
- Invoices and payment history so everything is on record
- Materials organised by topic so you can revisit and practise at your own pace
Access is set up when you begin lessons. Everything stays organised and available whenever you need it.
What You'll Need
Fast Internet
A stable broadband connection. The faster, the better for video quality.
Camera & Mic
Any computer, tablet or phone will do. Zoom, FaceTime, Google Meet — whatever suits you.
Drums or Pad
An acoustic or electronic kit. A practice pad and sticks can work to start.

Can I learn whatever I want?
Yes. Lessons are structured around your goals and interests. Whether you're working on a specific song, building technique, or preparing for an audition — it's your lesson.
How long are online lessons?
Lessons are available in half hour or full hour blocks. Most students find a full hour works well, but half-hour sessions are great for younger students or those just starting out.
How do I pay?
Lessons are $45 for 30 minutes or $90 for a full hour. Payment is via direct deposit or PayPal before the lesson starts. Details provided when you book.
What platform do you use for the live lesson?
Steve can use Zoom, FaceTime, Google Meet or whatever works best for you. The live video call is just one part — your client portal handles all the recordings, files, and reference material between sessions.
Do I need a full drum kit?
An acoustic or electronic kit is ideal, but you can start with a practice pad and sticks. Get in touch if you're unsure — we can work something out.
