Kate Miller-Heidke’s new album “Nightflight” has debuted at #2 on the ARIA charts. You can hear my playing on five tracks on the album, including “The Tiger Inside Will Eat the Child”. Click here to watch a video for that track.

Back in the studio with Francesca de Valence

This week I’ll be back in to rehearsals and recording with Francesca de Valence, who I recorded with earlier in the year. Paul McKercher will be at the helm as producer once again and I’m looking forward to getting to work with Francesca and band. Stay tuned for updates regarding when the tunes will be available.

I’d like to announce that after a great 6 years, my time as touring drummer for the Kate Miller-Heidke band has come to an end. It’s been an amazing ride and I wish nothing but the best for Kate and the band. Make sure you give the new album “Nightflight” a listen when it comes out on April 13 – it’s a great record and I’m proud to be a part of it

I certainly won’t be idle, with original projects A Family of Strangers, Daisie May, Medollic and Jackseven keeping me busy as well as my teaching schedule and session work. Keep an eye on this space for regular news updates about upcoming gigs and events.

Andrew Redford’s EP “Hey Lucy”, which I recorded drums for, is now available on iTunes! The Sunshine Coast singer/songwriter has been doing great things of late, more recently winning the performer award in the Telstra Road to Discovery competition. Recording with Francesca de Valence

This week I’ll be recording a few songs for Brisbane singer/songwriter Francesca de Valence who I’ve done some live work with previously. We’ve been rehearsing for the past couple of days and the tunes are sounding great. ARIA award winning producer Paul McKercher is producing and engineering the recording and it’s been brilliant working with Paul who has such an established career in the music industry. This guy has worked with some great Australian bands and produced some classic albums including “Hourly, Daily” by You Am I, “Moo You Bloody Choir” by Augie March and “Feeler” by Pete Murray. New album recording with Kate Miller-Heidke

This week I’m in Melbourne recording some tracks for the new Kate Miller-Heidke album. We’re recording at Birdland Studios with engineer/producer Lindsay Gravina who has worked with the likes of The Living End, Spiderbait, Jet, Magic Dirt, and Eskimo Joe, just to name a few. I’ll be playing on about 6 songs on the album and sharing the drum duties with John Castle who has recorded and toured with Washington in the last couple of years. The tracks are coming together well and the tones we’re getting are awesome! Keep an eye out for the new Kate Miller-Heidke album sometime around March 2012.
