A Family Of Strangers gig this Sunday…
This Sunday January 29th sees A Family Of Strangers take the stage at the Elephant & Wheelbarrow in Brisbane for their first show of 2012. We’ll be debuting tunes from the upcoming EP so make sure you come down to check it out! Details are below.
Andrew Redford EP “Hey Lucy” now available!
Andrew Redford’s EP “Hey Lucy”, which I recorded drums for, is now available on iTunes! The Sunshine Coast singer/songwriter has been doing great things of late, more recently winning the performer award in the Telstra Road to Discovery competition. The EP, which was recorded at James North Productions, can be found on iTunes HERE. Enjoy!
Back in the teaching studio!
After taking some time off over the Christmas break, I’ll be kicking back in to teaching starting Wednesday January 11. There are vacancies available at the moment but if you’re interested in getting some lessons, best to get in sooner rather than later as spots fill up fast! You can find out more information about my tuition HERE and can find my contact details HERE.
Recording with Francesca de Valence
This week I’ll be recording a few songs for Brisbane singer/songwriter Francesca de Valence who I’ve done some live work with previously. We’ve been rehearsing for the past couple of days and the tunes are sounding great. ARIA award winning producer Paul McKercher is producing and engineering the recording and it’s been brilliant working with Paul who has such an established career in the music industry. This guy has worked with some great Australian bands and produced some classic albums including “Hourly, Daily” by You Am I, “Moo You Bloody Choir” by Augie March and “Feeler” by Pete Murray. You can find out more about Francesca HERE and Paul McKercher HERE. I’ll let you know when the tunes are available!
New album recording with Kate Miller-Heidke
This week I’m in Melbourne recording some tracks for the new Kate Miller-Heidke album. We’re recording at Birdland Studios with engineer/producer Lindsay Gravina who has worked with the likes of The Living End, Spiderbait, Jet, Magic Dirt, and Eskimo Joe, just to name a few. I’ll be playing on about 6 songs on the album and sharing the drum duties with John Castle who has recorded and toured with Washington in the last couple of years. The tracks are coming together well and the tones we’re getting are awesome! Keep an eye out for the new Kate Miller-Heidke album sometime around March 2012.
In the studio… again!
In the last few weeks I’ve been back in the studio recording with some local artists. First up was a session at Blackbox Studios recording 5 tracks with Gold Coast artist Lecia for her upcoming EP release. We got some great sounds happening and it was good to work with engineer/producer Jeff Lovejoy again. Next it was back to James North Productions to do a session with Brisbane artist Biff Rockmore. Stay tuned for details on upcoming release dates for these EP’s!
